Description

Today’s Photoshop Brushes are for painting leather texture. These are not stamp textures, every brush is fully dynamic – feel free to use them in your paintings or designs.

They are designed to be used on shaded objects or a dark background with the color of the main light source.

Press the Green button at the bottom to download the brushes.

For brush requests, ideas for future brush sets, or related questions you can email me at brushtip@pixelstains.net

The set contains five different brushes:

  • The first one is for painting aniline leather. Best used for covers or man-made objects.
  • The second brush is for painting a rugged, grainy, less refined leather texture.
  • The third one is hornback leather texture, often used on vintage fashion items.
  • The fourth texture resembles artificial leather.
  • The last brush is a smooth leather texture. It can be used on clothes, bags or other wearable items.

Tips:

Shade your object and apply the texture with the color of the light source.

For the best use and the most control first work in gray scale and introduce colors later. Forget blend modes such as Overlay, Screen and Multiply. For manipulating texture tones use your Dodge and Burn tools — it is a whole different ballgame.

For extra details use the default pressure sensitive soft brush, or with noise added.

NOTE:
All my brushes are FREE to use both in commercial and personal art.
I do not request credit or back linking, but if you do I'll take it as a kind gesture.
