Today’s Photoshop Brushes are for achieving the traditional pencil look.
For brush requests, ideas for future brush sets, or related questions you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
The set contains three different brushes:
- The first one is a 2B pencil. This is the goldilocks pencil for traditional sketching as it’s neither too hard, nor too soft. You can achieve a large range of values with it depending on how hard you push against the surface.
- The second brush is a 4B pencil. This is my personal favorite as I prefer to use a light touch. The only downside in traditional medium is that you have to sharpen it every 3 minutes, but in Photoshop you won’t have to worry about that.
- The third one is a mechanical pencil.
Set a paper texture in the background and paint over it for a pleasant traditional effect.
Set your foreground color to black to be able to work within the full range of values.
All my brushes are FREE to use both in commercial and personal art.
I do not request credit or back linking, but if you do I'll take it as a kind gesture.

My friend doesn't have photoshop, but does have Krita, do these work with Krita as well?
Seriously, I just found it by recommendation and downloaded them and tried them and I'm in love.

I have never found a better sketching brush and it makes details look so traditional.
It's just perfect!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
The 3 of them are great (i like the first one best, and guess what? i use a 2B pencil when i sketch traditionally), it makes it so much easier to do loose sketches on photoshop.
Thank you for sharing it!
I'll provably be using them for all my digital sketches from now on!!
